STRATEGY

TECHNOLOGY
KINARIS combines protein structure
determination and target-based rational drug
design with chemical synthesis to generate a new
class of therapeutic drugs for the treatment of
various myosin-associated diseases.
KINARIS
has initially focused the drug development
process on the generation of specific inhibitors
against parasitic myosins. This is being
realized through the establishment of an interdisciplinary infrastructure
embracing three closely interacting departments:

Cell
Technology & Pharmacology (CTP)
The cell technology department is responsible
for defining and validating innovative
high-throughput biochemical and cellular assays
in the drug development program. The CTP
department designs, tests, and optimizes novel,
quantifiable cell-based assays for assessing
cellular activity and specificity of candidate
drugs as well as assessing cellular mechanisms.
This accelerates the drug discovery process and
improves quality of the drug candidates
produced.
