KINARIS combines protein structure
determination and target-based rational drug
design with chemical synthesis to generate a new
class of therapeutic drugs for the treatment of
various myosin-associated diseases.
KINARIS
has initially focused the drug development
process on the generation of specific inhibitors
against parasitic myosins. This is being
realized through the establishment of an interdisciplinary infrastructure
embracing three closely interacting departments:

The Medicinal
Chemistry Department is responsible for the
design and synthesis of novel small molecule
drug candidates. from early screening stages
throughout the selection process of
pre-clinical candidates. The MC department
applies synthesis, physical properties
profiling and input from protein
crystallography.
